I never said that, his family member was in the audience for every talk. But most people when they learn a habit as a young person especially when speaking or was doing something for a long time, it will stick with them. That is how accents are formed because you learn to speak with that so it is hard to get rid of it.

Is Stephen Lett an alien imitation?
by LoveUniHateExams ini've been watching quite a bit of gb member stephen lett on youtube recently (no, i'm not thinking of going back to the jws).. i just find him compulsive viewing, like when people slow down to see a car crash.
i find his facial expressions and intonation spell-binding.. it reminds me a bit of john carpenter's the thing, a film where an alien life-form infects a host and imitates it, spreading throughout camps of remote workers in the antarctic.
if i were a bethelite living in close proximity to lett, i'd be thinking about giving him the blood test to see if he was normal, lol.. why does lett speak in public the way he does?

Again my point was you have to look at the totality of the policy or the totality of the law. The policy that Watchtower has stated is that they will report if there is a child that is still in danger and as been constantly been stated here, child pornography keeps victimizing the child. Again I use the example of Alaska where there are two sepeate statutes one is the statute on child pornography where it does not mandate anyone to report that someone else is in posession, has made or is distributing child pornography, does that mean that no one is mandated to report that, if you just look at that one law, then yes. But a single law is not in a vaccum, you have to look at it in the context of all the other laws, the other law is that if a processor of film or other visual forms of media sees child pornography they are mandated to report that.
So in similar fashion, yes the Watchtower policy does not state that those that watch Child Pornography must be reported to the police in that section, you have to look at the full policy together. It does state that if either the elder or the branch feel that the child is still in danager, then they are to report the matter.

Did I say that it wasn't child abuse. I said how could this be considered in the jurisdiction of a commission that is mandated to investigate not just child abuse, but child abuse in institutions.

So if the alleged activity is a criminal act then report it. So if you see someone speed down the road are you required to report it to the police. Or let's say that you see someone or someone confesses that they murdered someone are you required by law to report it. For the vast majority of laws you are not. It is only when the law mandates that you are required to do something are you required to do it.

He speaks like that because one of his family members growing up had a hearing and speech problem. So he exaggerates his speech in because that is how he grew up so that, the family member could understand him.

OC and again that is where the mandatory reporting statutes in each jurisdiction comes into play. It depends again on the jurisdiction. Such as in Alaska and Louisiana, it is rolled into the child abuse statute that if someone sees child pornography then they are required to report the matter. The possession, creation and distribution of child pornography is a separate statute, but the reporting of it falls under the child abuse statute. So just because the child pornography statute doesn't mandate processors of film to report it doesn't mean that they aren't required to report it, it is covered in a separate statute. You have to take the full law into account, just like you have to take the full Watchtower policy in it's totality.

The reason that that was not brought up by the ARC was that it was outside their scope. How can this be considered the child abuse in an institution. The Commission has a mandate to investigate the investigation of institutional child abuse.

And I do understand the theory that viewing of pornography degrades and victimizes the performer even when they are adults. The idea is that if these performers did not feel pressured, either by exterior or interior pressures they would not be performing in this type of entertainment. That is why there are nations that have either banned the production or viewing of pornography or have attempted to ban it. Such as South Korea, it is illegal to create pornographic images of any kind in the country.

So if the child is being victimized each time that someone watches a depiction of child pornography then the child is still in danger, isn't that correct? Then the mandatory reporting would come into play.
